LIVE MUSIC FOR LITTLE EARS

The Jukebox Listening Lounge is a warm and welcoming concert experience designed for young children and their grown-ups.

These mini concerts introduce children to the beauty of live music performances in a way that feels calm, playful and pressure-free. There's no expectation to sit still or stay silent - it's all about enjoying and experiencing the music.

Performed by musicians, each Listening Lounge is short, engaging and carefully curated for young listeners.

Our Approach

At JukeBox, we believe that a child's first experiences of live music should feel positive and joyful. The Listening Lounge invites children to: Listen with their whole bodies, notice how music makes them feel, experience instruments up close, build a natural and happy relationship with sound.

Experience different genres of music

From string quartets and solo pianists playing classical repertoire, to jazz standards and more, we aim to bring a slightly different take on live music with each Listening Lounge.

Movement & Materials

The Listening Lounge invites children to respond to music in gentle and creative ways. We may use scarves, simple art materials, movement and basic percussion instruments to support our understanding of the music.

Each Listening Lounge will last approx 45 minutes.

FORMAT

Seated on the floor; please bring mats and cushions etc to make yoursleves comfortable

EXPECTATIONS

Children may move, lie down and whisper. We ask that adults try to maintain a calm and respectful environment but perfection is not expected!

EXPERIENCE

We want our little listeners to feel freedom to enjoy the music and move around if they would like to.

The Listening Lounge is ideal for children aged 3-7 (though younger and older siblings are welcome).
